Marc Beyer and Tim Simonson met when they were opposing counsel in a custody case that went to trial. They were impressed with each other’s performances, and formed a friendship and mutual respect for each other.

When Marc read Tim’s bio, he discovered that he was from Canada and also an avid curler. Marc asked Tim to join his curling team, and soon after, they became law partners.

Divorce Attorneys Committed to Meeting Client Goals and Expectations

Family law is inherently emotional. Clients have no idea what they may or may not be entitled to under the law. This is why it is imperative to set realistic expectations for clients. We listen to clients’ goals, educate them on the law, and set expectations accordingly. This allows clients to enter the proceeding with a better idea of what to expect.

Our philosophy is to work hard to negotiate the best settlement possible, recognizing that mutual concessions will be necessary for a case to settle. Most cases do settle short of trial in some form of mediation. But we are prepared to take cases to trial if mediation is unsuccessful.

Experienced Family Law Attorneys

Marc Beyer and Tim Simonson are highly experienced attorneys in the area of family law, as they have experience negotiating settlements and taking cases to trial.

Marc Beyer – Marc wanted to be an attorney from a young age with his decision cemented when he took a Constitutional Law class in college. He then attended William Mitchell College of Law and this is where he became familiar with family law. After graduating from law school, Marc clerked for a District Court Judge where he saw first-hand how much of an impact lawyers could have on the outcome of family law cases. This inspired him to pursue family law so that he could help people during some of the most difficult times of their lives.

Tim Simonson – Tim attended law school at the University of North Dakota and also began his career as a judicial law clerk. He, too, decided that the field of family law was the right place for him. As a result, Tim has handled divorce, child support, child custody, third party and grandparent rights, domestic abuse, parenting time, and many other areas of family law. Tim’s experience also includes contested hearings and successfully arguing on behalf of his clients in the Minnesota Court of Appeals and the Minnesota Supreme Court. When he is not in the office, he has served as a past chair with Habitat for Humanity, has coached hockey, enjoys running marathons, and enjoys spending time with his family.
